LAMS News:
Owen James, a 7th grader at Los Alamos Middle School, won first place in the LAMS Spelling Bee held last week.
Eighth grader Jasmine Heft was second, followed by 7th grader Karly Seitz-Pruitt in third place. Audrey Miller, also a 7th grader, is the alternate.
The District Spelling Bee is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022.
“It took 14 rounds to determine our winner,” LAMS Spelling Bee Coordinator Sherri Bublitz said.
The winning word was “hodad”. LAMS would like to say thank you to judges Megan Parton, Janelle Maestas and Claire Stewart.
