SPORTS News:

Coach Mel Montoya and Coach Mark Lopez would like to recognize our Los Alamos Middle School 8th grade basketball team.

Our boys, in addition to being stellar athletes, are committed students in the classroom. A tip of the hat for balancing our demanding practices and game schedules with their academic responsibilities.

Our 8th Grade Team currently sports a 6-3 record with quality wins over the SFIS Braves and Taos Tigers. Among our losses was a one point overtime loss to a talented West Las Vegas team and close loss to perennial power Espanola Cardinals.

The LAMS 8th Grade Team will end their season at the Pojoaque Tournament scheduled to commence Feb. 27. Our opening opponent will be the Taos Tigers with tip off scheduled for 12:15 p.m. at the Pojoaque Middle School Campus. Please feel free to come watch some quality basketball and provide support for your LAMS Hawks.

Coach Montoya and Coach Lopez would like to thank our LAMS Hawks 8th grade parents. Their unwavering support is admirable. We would like to thank photographer extraordinaire Roman Martinez Jr. for taking his usual awesome pictures at our last Hawk vs. Pojoaque basketball contest and finally we would like to thank the Los Alamos Daily Post for recognition of our athletes. Thank you everybody for your assistance in making this season a success.
