LAMC News:
Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) will host its Annual Teddy Bear Clinic Monday, Sept. 29.
Approximately 200 kindergartners, their teachers and parent chaperones will tour LAMC in order to learn about the hospital and the various departments, all while gaining a comfort level within a healthcare setting.
With the help of Classic Aeromedical helicopter and crew, and the Los Alamos County Police and Fire Departments, the students also will have the opportunity to tour a medi-evac helicopter, police cars, a fire truck and an ambulance, all of which are key factors for quality healthcare in Los Alamos.
“LAMC supports the educational growth of our children and has provided this program at no expense to all to the schools or the students,” event coordinator Johanna Jiron said. “It’s very exciting to have so many children participate and know that many of their teachers also take this time to include a health week lesson plan prior to the Teddy Bear Clinic, which expands the experience even more.”
LAMC CEO Feliciano Jiron said, “LAMC is delighted to provide the opportunity to create a positive healthcare experience that our children will never forget. Our entire organization loves this event and they are all excited to share the world of medicine and healthcare with the next generation. We can’t wait for the children to arrive.”
