Los Alamos Little Theatre Hosts Sound Workshop Saturday

LALT News:

Los Alamos Little Theatre (LALT) is hosting a live sound workshop open to anyone who wants to learn how to run sound (microphones/mixers/speakers) for any event, with a focus on live theater performance.

The class is 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the PAC, 1670 Nectar St.

The workshop is free and donations to LALT are welcome.

In the first half of the workshop, participants will learn the basics of how to use a mixing console, when and how to use different types of microphones, and how to set up speakers, monitors and recording/streaming devices.

The second half will focus on LALT-specific equipment such as the wireless microphone system, and a more detailed look at the PAC’s mixer. The course will be hands-on, and by the end participants will be able to use the LALT sound system, and create a basic live-sound setup of their own.

The class will be taught by Nick Denissen who has coordinated the sound setup for recent musicals at the PAC (Chicago, Reefer Madness and Fun Home), the Atomic Follies Cabaret, and his own local bands/choirs.
