If you think a barbershop style quartet or chorus may be in your future, do we have some fun for you. The Lasses and Lads of Enchantment (LALOE) will host “Guest Night” 6:45-8:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. This fun event will be held at Graves Hall in the United Church at 2525 Canyon Road.
This Barbershop music chapter is in Los Alamos, but if you’re interested in a Santa Fe group, we can assist you there, too. LALOE is looking for anyone 18 and up who loves to sing. While you aren’t required to be able to read music, being able to carry a tune and follow directions are the only rules.
There’s no pressure to join; you can come to watch, sing along, learn about 4-part harmony or the barbershop style, and enjoy a few snacks, too. They sing every Thursday night and are preparing to sing for America’s 250th birthday in July.
LALOE President John Baillie said, “It is a chance to learn more about the craft and enjoy camaraderie with others.”
If you have questions or need more information, call Baillie at 505.660.0484 or email jabaillie2@yahoo.com.
