LAHS Teacher Suzanne Montoya New NMPED School Liaison

School Liaison for NMPED Suzanne Montoya

LAPS News:

Suzanne Montoya has been named the School Liaison for the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).

She was appointed by Los Alamos High School Principal Carter Payne.

As a Liaison, Montoya will attend monthly webinars in NMPED areas of focus in order to be a source of information and help other staff members with questions that might arise regarding state initiatives.

“I will also help keep teachers up to date with information, opportunities, and resources that are shared through the N.M. Teacher Leader Network (NMTLN),” Montoya said. “I am the go-between with the NMPED.”

In a message to LAHS staff, Montoya said, “I also am tasked with being your voice in providing teacher feedback to the NMPED. If you have concerns about guidelines or information coming from the state level, please bring them to me so that I can help share them with state staff. Through my role, I will have direct contact with NMPED Teacher Liaison Mandi Torrez. I am excited for the opportunity to serve as your Liaison and am dedicated to helping to create a strong line of communication between our school and the NMPED.”
