LAHS Students Shine At National Latin Exam

In March, Latin students at Los Alamos High School participated in the 2018 National Latin Exam. Four students won gold medals, Four students won silver medals and sixstudents earned Magna Cum Laude certificates. Overall, 22 students won a medal or certificate.

  • Latin I: Phoenix Rogers, Justin Martin, Abigail Wescott
  • Latin II: Gage Ellis, Alexander Baker, Kaya Krantz

  • Latin I: Cecelia Shaw, Parker Knight, Michael Aslam, Jared Carnes, Andrew McCumber, Cameron Taylor

The National Latin Exam contains questions on grammar, comprehension, mythology, derivatives, literature, Roman life, history, geography, oral Latin, and Latin in use in the modern world. More than 143,000 students from all 50 states and 24 foreign countries participated in the exam.
