We know there are a lot of Dallas Cowboys fans … well this dean has a lot of fans, too. Being a big fan of any Dallas team out there, born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Eric Zeigler is living the story.
He was raised in a suburb of Dallas with a population of some 300,000 people and four high schools. Zeigler grew up in a Southern Baptist family and loved sports because it was fun.
“After I graduated high school, I wanted to take a break for a year, but that year turned into 20,” Zeigler said.
During those 20 years, Zeigler became a salesman in the car business. He then became a manager and had a child with his wife. While his wife was a teacher throughout those years, she finally encouraged him to become a teacher. He then decided to get his Master’s in Education Leadership and became Dean of Students for Los Alamos High School (LAHS).
Since he moved to Los Alamos, Zeigler said he has seen only good things in this community. He did have to make big adjustments in his life, including getting used to the snow.
“We are very grateful to have Mr. Ziegler on our team,” Topper Freshman Academy Principal Ryan Finn said.
Sometimes some people don’t teach lessons as much as others do, but when it comes to Zeigler, he is a simple man. His lesson is, “You get what you give, someday, that good that you give might or will come back to you.”
