LAHS NJROTC Cadets Compete In Military Skills Meet

LAHS NJROTC News:

The Los Alamos High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (NJROTC) traveled Saturday to West Mesa and Cibola High Schools in Albuquerque to compete in a military skills meet.

The unit placed 1st in female physical fitness, 3rd place in male physical fitness, and 3rd place in male color guard.

Jaceena Hornberger also came in first place with 138 crunches in two minutes, Marissa Meierdierks placed second with a one minute, 24 second flexed arm hang, and Rebecca Moss came in third in the 800 meter race with a time of 3 minutes, 14 seconds.

“The cadets of Topper Company were amazing this past weekend at Cibola High School in Albuquerque.” Chief Aron Ayers said. “They’ve put in many hours practicing. Their hard work through some difficult circumstances this year shows that they won’t quit. We’re looking forward to heading to Santa Fe High School this weekend for their drill meet. Topper Company will continue to make Los Alamos proud.”
