In March, Latin students at Los Alamos High School participated in the 2016 National Latin Exam. A number of students received awards for their performances, some earning top honors.
In Latin 1, Carter Begnaud, Hannah Clegg, Isabella Stephens and Andres Vigil earned Silver Maxima Cum Laude medals and awards.
In Latin 2, Caleb Hatlerand, Jacob Thompson earned Silver Maxima Cum Laude medals and awards.
On the Latin 3 Poetry examination, Zephram Tripp earned a Gold Summa Cum Laude medal and award.
The National Latin Exam contains questions on grammar, comprehension, mythology, derivatives, literature, Roman life, history, geography, oral Latin, and Latin in use in the modern world. The LAHS Latin students were joined by more than 154,000 other students from all 50 states and 19 foreign countries.
