For its “Spread the Warmth” project, the Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Interact Club, the youth service organization sponsored by the Rotary Club of Los Alamos, will host four opportunities at two collection sites for donations of new or gently-used warm clothing and non-perishable food items this weekend.

The warm clothing will benefit the resettlement program for refugees and asylum-seekers through the Lutheran Family Services of Albuquerque; the food will be donated to The Food Depot in Santa Fe and will be distributed to food pantries in Northern New Mexico, including our LA Cares.

Beginning Friday, Interactors will team up with Dance Arts Los Alamos (DALA) at Smith Auditorium during the 7 p.m. premiere of this year’s production, ‘Sugar Plum on the Hill’, the conclusion of the Nutcracker on the Hill trilogy.

“Spread the Warmth” collection boxes also will be available at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the lobby at Smith Auditorium and at the 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4 performance.

Saturday, Interactors also will have a collection 2-7:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Zia Credit Union, just east of the Bradbury Science Museum. Please drop by before or after the 6 p.m. WinterFest Holiday Lights Parade along Central Avenue.

Interactors will be selling yummy baked goods and totally-toasty hot chocolate!
