Duane Smith Auditorium at Los Alamos High School is the venue for two arts department events Monday, Dec. 17.
The closing reception for a collection of fall semester artwork by visual arts students is slated from 3:30 p.m. in the foyer area and at 7 p.m., the 2012 Winter Dance show begins.
“We are very excited about displaying the fall semester artwork during the winter concerts. We hope dancers and their parents will join us for this closing reception,” said Mary Grace, visual arts instructor and
visual/performing arts department chair.
The dance show will include wild student-choreographed and artfully crafted formation dances, according to dance teacher Natasha Barkhudarova.
Also, there will be guest performances by the New Mexico School for the Arts, New Mexico Dance Theater, Barranca School, LAHS Color Guard, LAHS Hip-Hop Club and school alumni.
“Whatever your choice – waltz, samba, tango, Cha-Cha, Jitterbug, or swing, we have it all,” Barkhudarova said.
