Los Alamos High School will host Sophomore Parent Night at 6 p.m. Monday, April 10 in the Speech Theater. Parents of current LAHS sophomores and students are invited to this informative evening.
“Sophomore Parent Night gives students and parents an opportunity to learn what we as counselors are doing in the classroom with the sophomores in the month of April, as well as providing a review of this information for the students,” said Cassandra Olivas Chavez and Cristin Haake, school counselors at LAHS. “We will focus on discussing summer opportunities that will help students enhance their resumes for colleges and scholarships.”
Topics to be covered at Sophomore Parent Night will include the college admissions process, ideas for resume enrichment, summer programs, community service opportunities and helpful websites. Counselors will also talk about Naviance, a web-based platform available to all LAHS students that provides tools for career, college and success planning.
