LAHS Graduate LTC Kyle Trottier Takes Command Of 1st Battalion 37th Armor, 2nd Armor Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armor Division At Fort Bliss Army Post

During a change of command and passing of the Colors ceremony June 1, 2023, Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Kyle Trottier, (formerly of Los Alamos), took command of 1st Battalion 37th Armor, 2nd Armor Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armor Division at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The 37th Armor Regiment carries a legacy of valor leading General Patton’s Third Army in the drive across Europe and being the first unit into Bastogne to relieve the encircled 101st Airborne. They stood guard in Europe during the Cold War and contributed to both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Later this summer, LTC Trottier will lead 1-37AR on an operational deployment to Europe where they will assure Allies and deter aggression through combined training exercises aimed to build readiness and interoperability.

LTC Trottier is the son of Andy and Cherie Trottier of Los Alamos. He is a 2001 graduate of Los Alamos High School where he participated in athletics, band and student council. LTC Trottier has served as a commissioned Armor Officer in the United States Army for 18 years.
