LAHS Girls Wrestling Takes 3rd At Pojoaque Tournament

The Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Girls Wrestling Team battled hard to claim 3rd place in the Pojoaque Tournament held Friday and Saturday in the Ben Lujan Gymnasium at Pojoaque High School.

“Each athlete wrestled many matches during the two day tournament,” LAHS Girls Wrestling Head Coach Emily Tew said. “They battled hard and it shows in their 3rd place finish. We finish our regular season at Sandia on Wednesday the 31st and the post season begins on February 9th with the Regional Tournament at Capital High School in Santa Fe.”

Results:

  • The team came in 3rd overall.

Individual:

  • Sophia Pacheco – 3rd
  • Emmeline Weaver – 3rd
  • Wendy Sheppard – 3rd
  • Olivia Van De Water – 5th
  • Jade Blackhart – 1st (improving her season record to 27-0)
