The Los Alamos High School girls soccer team picked up a road win in a non-district game Saturday against Aztec, beating the Tigers 4-2.
A school record was broken when Tara McDonald scored the first goal of the game 20 seconds into the match. The Tigers answered quickly, scoring a goal 3 minutes later.
Aaliyah Walker broke the tie in the first half scoring the Toppers second goal. McDonald picked up two more goals in the second half to secure the victory.
Mika Stanfield minded the net for the Toppers and had 2 saves. The Topper defense put in a solid effort and was led by Kyla Peterson, Katie Osburn, Jennie Gao, Paetyn Miller and Meredith Brown.
Strong midfield play from Olivia Bell, Tirryn Sutherland, and Laila Carter was key to the victory.
The Toppers continue district play Tuesday when they travel to take on Pojoaque Valley High School.
