LAHS Girls Golf Team Wins 4A District Tournament

The Los Alamos girls golf team won the 4A District golf tournament Monday in Taos at the Taos Country Club.
 
Teams from Los Alamos, Hope Christian, Albuquerque Academy, Valley High School, Taos, Highland, Espanola and Del Norte participated in the tournament.
 
Team scores:
 
1. Los Alamos – 336
2. Hope Christian – 346
3. Albuquerque Academy – 384
 
All District Team went to:
 
1. Jessica Osden – Los Alamos – 75
2. Skylar Winckler – Albuquerque Academy – 80
3. Grace Jorgensen –  Albuquerque Academy – 81
4. Brooke Sturtevant – Hope Christian – 81
5. Alicia Gonzales – Los Alamos – 82

Notes:
 
  • Alicia Gonzales shot her best score to date.
  • Emily Moulton has been a solid performer since joining the team mid-way through the year shooting 94 in each of the last three varsity tournaments.
  • The weather in Taos started beautifully with winds picking up in the latter part of the round. The wind didn’t seem to effect them too much.
  • The team intends to carry the momentum they’ve been building on during the last couple of weeks into the state tournament next week.
