Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) and sponsor Century Bank are encouraging people to consider giving to Los Alamos and Rio Arriba county nonprofit organizations through a single online giving platform – losalamosgives.org.
“This year, many individuals and nonprofits are facing uncertainty and increased needs, LACF Executive Director Liz Martineau. “We encourage donors to extend a helping hand through personal donations of time, funds, and food.”

Los Alamos Gives.org provides a way to connect community members with local nonprofits to offer streamlined assistance. As your local community bank, we are honored to champion this cause.”
Los Alamos Gives is a powerful “one-stop shop of giving” site where donors can learn about local nonprofit organizations and make donations to one or more with a single payment on a secure platform. Though focused on Giving Tuesday, the site is open throughout the year. The site is free to local nonprofit organizations thanks to sponsorship from Century Bank, and there are no fees from LACF to manage the site.
“Ultimately, the Los Alamos Gives campaign has several goals – to grow and diversify funding for nonprofits, to foster a greater sense of philanthropy in the community, and to inform the public about the positive impact local nonprofits have on our lives,” Martineau said.
Martineau asked people to please consider giving to the organizations that they value in the community; even small gifts can make a difference.
“Your donations matter. They fund programs at PEEC, Self Help, Visiting Nurses, LA Cares, Art Center, Senior Center, Los Alamos Symphony, and many more organizations,” she said.
Anyone can donate. Simply click “donate” at the losalamosgives.org main page and search for the organization(s) you want to support, then click “donate” to give. Donations can be made via credit card and several online payment platforms.
Those wishing to volunteer their time can find a list of opportunities at VolunteerLosAlamos.org. Rotary Club, for example, has an opportunity for individuals, families, or groups to help pack meals on Nov. 22. Visit the website to learn more about this and other volunteer opportunities. Shelf-stable food for LA Cares may be donated at various locations around town, including at the Community Foundation, which is located inside the Enterprise Bank & Trust building.
