Schedule:
Wednesday, Oct. 2 Daytime Performance:
- Local favorites Black Mesa Brass Quintet will perform noon to 1 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Activity Center. This performance is part of the Daytime Performance Series sponsored by LAAC.
Friday, Oct. 4 Art Opening:
- Local artists Janet Montoya and Gloria Sharp will open their show in the Portal gallery at the Fuller Lodge Art Center. There will be a reception 5-7 p.m. and the show will run through Oct. 25.
Saturday, Oct. 5 Craft Fair:
- The Fall Craft Fair is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5 in Central Park Square. Come out and support local craft artisans!
Monday, Oct. 7 Missoula Children’s Theatre Auditions:
- An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre original adaptation of HERCULES! 4-6 p.m. Oct. 7 at Crossroads Bible Church.
Tuesday, Oct. 8 Book Release:
- In collaboration with Samizdat Bookstore & Teahouse, LAAC is presenting a literary event in Fuller Lodge. Author Rachel Robbins is releasing her debut novel, “The Sound of a Thousand Stars”. Published by Penguin Random House and premiering exclusively for this event, the book is a fictional account of two Jewish physicists working on the Manhattan Project, and is inspired by the experiences of Robbins’ grandparents. There will be a meal served, and the author will appear in conversation with Liz Martineau.
Saturday, Oct. 12 Missoula Children’s Theatre Performance:
- Come out and watch local children perform HERCULES. Performance is 6 p.m. at Crossroads Bible Church.
Sunday, Oct. 13 to Saturday, Nov. 2 Scarecrow Contest:
- LAAC presents its Annual Scarecrow Contest. This year’s theme is Decades, applications are open until Oct. 1. See the scarecrows lining downtown in this Los Alamos tradition.
Saturday, Oct. 26 Pumpkin Glow:
- The most beloved fall program returns to the Fuller Lodge lawn on Oct. 26. Pumpkin Carving starts at 10 a.m. There will be 100 pumpkins available free to carve and decorate for the glow starting at 5 p.m. Leave pumpkins with the LAAC and they will go on display at dusk. There will also be a Pumpkin Toddle for those who need a less sensory experience before the glow begins at dusk.
