LA Cares Volunteers Prepare Food Bags For Local Residents

Volunteer June Gladney places items into boxes Wednesday afternoon in preparation for distribution this morning to Los Alamos residents. The food items are distributed the second Friday of the month and the Thursday before. Pickup times are 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday. The food bags and boxes are picked up in a drive by fashion in the parking lot of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church on North Road. The food items are available to LA residents only and benefit around 85 families. The food items are in large part paid from the generous monetary donations from the community. Other sources include Postal Pickup days and the Food Co-op. Photo by John McHale/ladailypost.com
