LA Cares Bi-Annual Food Drive Saturday Nov. 23

LA CARES News:

As the holidays draw nearer, Los Alamos has a lot to be thankful for. We have plenty of good jobs, good friends and a beautiful locale. But, not everyone has it this easy.

Local food bank LA Cares helps make sure that everyone has something to be thankful for during the holidays. LA Cares is a volunteer organization that helps the needy of Los Alamos County by distributing food and helping with expenses.

Saturday Nov. 23, the Boy Scouts and Mail Carriers will be taking donations for LA Cares. The community is encouraged to donate by leaving non-perishable food by their mailbox on the morning of Nov. 23, or by giving donations to the Cub Scouts at the local Smiths.

Monetary donations also may be given to LA Cares through the Cub Scouts. Donations also may be made year-round at the Los Alamos Aquatic Center.

Volunteers also are needed to sort and package donations 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 23 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on DP Road.
