February is the month of love—so let’s share that love with our beloved businesses in downtown Los Alamos and White Rock. Make 2025 extra special by supporting the unique establishments that are truly the heartbeat of our community.
Supporting locals isn’t just about shopping, it’s about finding meaningful ways to uplift the businesses that make our town vibrant. Get to know a new business and why they choose Los Alamos!
Engage & Connect: Building a strong local economy starts with relationships. Stop by a store, chat with the owners, and let them know you appreciate their presence. Running a business isn’t easy, and your encouragement and building genuine relationships is a heartfelt way of showing support. As staffing remains a significant hurdle (44% of local businesses reported difficulties in hiring and retaining employees), help boost morale and show some love to the staff!
Spread the Love Online: Los Alamos thrives on community connections, and social media is a powerful tool to highlight our local gems on places, like “Keep it Local Los Alamos”. Share your favorite finds, highlight your best dining experiences, and leave positive reviews to help businesses attract new customers. A simple post or recommendation can make a big difference!
Discover Unique Finds & Sweet Deals: Many local shops offer special deals this season, making it the perfect time to explore. Whether you’re browsing for clothing, handmade jewelry, or thoughtful gifts crafted with love. Visit Fuller Lodge Art Center, discover DP Road and take a road trip to White Rock (do you know where the cookies are?)—you’re sure to find something as unique as you are! And don’t forget to take a break and grab a delicious bite to eat or a steaming latte along the way.
Winter can be a slow season for businesses, but we can play a part to positively impact our economy and thrive, even when it’s cold outside. Every time you choose to shop, dine, or engage locally, you’re making an investment in the future of our mesa-top community and one that ensures a stronger, sweeter tomorrow.
