Kirtland Federal Credit Union Launches Support For Ukrainian Displacement Fund

Kirtland FCU News:

ALBUQUERQUE — Kirtland Federal Credit Union (FCU) is collecting donations to benefit the families and communities in Ukraine.

Credit unions are very tied into the communities they serve. Recent events in Ukraine are severely impacting families, and the credit union system in Ukraine has been challenged to continue the critical support services they offer to the communities they serve.

To aid in their fight, the Worldwide Foundation of Credit Unions and the World Council of Credit Unions have launched the Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund, a fundraising effort to collect and provide financial support to mitigate both the short- and long-term impacts to Ukraine’s credit union system, its employees, and the members and communities of Ukraine.

Kirtland FCU quickly developed a matching donations program.

“This is such a critical and unifying cause,” Matt Rarden said, Kirtland FCU President and CEO. “These Ukrainian communities and families are facing unimaginable hardship. Credit unions are known for serving our communities and the Ukrainian credit union system is no different.  The work of the Worldwide Foundation of Credit Unions is integral, and we understand the immediate and desperate need of the Ukrainian people.  There was no question or delay in our support of that mission.”

Anyone wanting more information or wishing to donate to the fund with a match from Kirtland Federal Credit Union can do so by visiting us online (Kirtlandfcu.org), stopping by any branch or by calling 1.800.880.5328.

“Our members have big hearts and are unwaveringly patriotic,” Matt Rarden said “In just a couple of days as of March 5, we’ve already raised nearly $12,000. We need to keep the momentum growing to meet the growing need we’re seeing in Ukraine.”
