All you need is either acrylic paints or a sharpie, a paintbrush and a smooth rounded stone or pebble.
That is how you make a kindness rock or story stone. Then you place the stone in gardens, along a trail, or in a flowerpot to uplift someone’s day!
I try to take a walk as many days of the week as I can. Social distancing is made palatable when I get out in the sunshine. Nature is healing and helps relieve stress.
The 7th of May was a very special walk down the Canada del Buey Trail in White Rock. It was special because of the little stones that had been put along the trail. Rock painting is fun, but it is also a gift to everyone who finds the secret little stash.
Certainly, in this time of social distancing and COVID-19 these little kindness rocks made me smile and I said a secret thank you to the adult or child that painted the stone and placed it along the path. Perhaps they have done this every year, but this is the first year I have walked that path at this time of year.
