The Karen Wray Gallery is now offering a Sunday morning Beginning Drawing Class by Jared Krupp, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., starting Sunday, Sept. 7, for eight weeks at $240/student plus supplies.
Students will learn the fundamentals of drawing, including understanding lines, shapes, proportions, perspective, and shading. These elements will provide students with a strong foundation for creating accurate and compelling drawings.
More Advanced Class:
If you are looking for a more advanced drawing class or have previously taken a beginning drawing Class and want to learn more, Jared’s Continuing Drawing Class will resume, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3, for eight weeks-also at $240/student.
Painting for the Absolute Beginner Class
Have you always wanted to learn how to paint, but don’t know where to start or have tried painting, but quit in frustration? Do you start with watercolors or acrylics? How do you begin? Karen Wray’s Painting for the Absolute Beginner Class will guide you through the basics of painting, starting with oil paints, due to their more forgiving nature. Students will learn about the materials used in painting and how to handle paints, solvents, and mediums safely. Then students will learn how to start a painting, from choosing the size of a canvas and making the first marks on the canvas, to adding the final details. Students will work with black and white paint to learn about using value (black, white, and grays in between) to create form, then add one earth-tone at the end to introduce color. This class will run 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., starting Tuesday, Sept. 9 for eight weeks at $240/student plus supplies.
Continuing Painting Class
Not a beginner, but want to paint with a group, Karen’s Continuing Painting Class resumes, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, for eight weeks at $240/student plus supplies.
Watercolor Painting Class
We are also offering a Watercolor Painting Class by Han In Huang, Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m., for eight weeks, starting Sept. 10 for $240 plus supplies.
