The Los Alamos High School Hilltalkers and the Los Alamos Middle School Hawktalkers speech and debate teams are hosting the annual Los Alamos Invitational Debate Tournament Saturday, Sept. 28 Los Alamos High School.
Debate teams from across the state will converge on Los Alamos to debate for titles in the first full debate tournament of the 2019-2020 season.
Los Alamos Middle School Coach Sherri Bublitz and Los Alamos High School Coach Margo Batha are seeking volunteers to judge debate rounds, or donate food to feed visiting coaches and volunteer judges.
Approximately 100 judges are needed to volunteer a total of 300 hours.
Judges can be anyone over the age of 18 in any profession. Volunteers may or may not be associated with Los Alamos Public Schools. Judges must commit to a minimum of 2.5 volunteer hours.

A training workshop for judges is 5:30 p.m. today, Sept. 23 at the Los Alamos Christian Church. Participants will be trained and given materials on what is expected in a debate round.
