Joe Granville is an experienced designer with Poulin Design Center. He resides in Los Alamos with his wife and their 7-and-a-half-year-old son.

Granville recently commented that the November 2017 issue of Dwell magazine featured the personal home of Architect William Ruhl. Ruhl outlined some of the modifications he made to his home with particular consideration to the needs of his disabled granddaughter. He was quoted in the article as saying, “Isn’t it great when caring about others becomes great art or architecture”.

“As a kitchen and bath designer, I am inspired by the idea that my “caring about others” can become beautiful design,” Granville said. “Working for Poulin Design Center allows me to employ my passion for design in the projects of my clients in Los Alamos and Northern New Mexico. Bringing together function and form in a way that improves the quality of people’s daily lives.”

Poulin is a full-service kitchen and bathroom remodeling firm serving New Mexico since 1982. The company has two Design Centers, one at 1300 Rufina Circle B-1 in Santa Fe, around the corner from Meow Wolf, and the other at 8600 Pan American Fwy NE in Albuquerque.

“Our Design Centers have all the products you need for your remodel, making it convenient for our customers to select all of their products in one place,” he said. “We carry name brands: Delta, Moen, Emser, Corian and Arizona Tile. The latest CORETec, Mannington and Armstrong flooring as well as five cabinet manufactures and more.”

Granville explained that bathroom remodels are among the most requested projects.

“Many folks realize that if they want to remain in their homes, they will need to add safety features to their bathrooms that allow them to age in place,” he said. “Bathtub to shower conversions are popular because as we age, stepping into and out of a tub can become more difficult. A low threshold shower with grab and assist bars can be just the thing to allow you to safely enjoy your space.”

Trying to remodel a space on your own using a big box store can be an intimidating and expensive venture, Granville said, adding that industry data suggests that most “do it yourself” remodels end up costing more in time and money than having the work professionally done.

“When you work with Poulin, you are working with a team dedicated to providing you a quality remodel,” he said. “Whether you work with me or any of our talented designers, you are working with a professional with years of experience. We will help you navigate the many design decisions involved in a kitchen or bathroom remodel so that you can feel confident that your kitchen or bathroom remodel will look and function great for years to come.”

Poulin is unique in the industry in that they offer the 3D virtual reality experience for clients having difficulty imagining what the final outcome of their remodel will look like.

“When it’s time to update your kitchen or bathroom, talk to the team that cares about your project as much as you do,” Granville said. “I invite you to call Poulin Design Center at 505.880.2500 or visit us online at PoulinDesignCenter.com.”
