Job Seekers And Unemployment Insurance Claimants Must Create New Account To Access Online Services

NMDWS News:

ALBUQUERQUE The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) began May 15 requiring individuals to set up a new single sign on account to access online services for job exploration and/or to apply or certify for Unemployment Insurance benefits.

The department has been working towards simplifying the log in process to alleviate individuals from having to remember multiple usernames and passwords to access both the New Mexico Workforce Connection Online System and the New Mexico Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims system.

Whether an individual is a new or a returning user, the first time they come to www.jobs.state.nm.us on or after May 15, 2019, they will be prompted to create a new single account to access the online systems. Users for both systems will need to have a valid and accessible email address that they do not share with anyone else. The email address will be used for account management and security purposes. For assistance in creating an email address more information can be found here: Be Prepared – Create an Email Address Today! The new account creation process will also be available in Spanish.

“We want to be able to maximize our online services to job seekers and claimants to give them quick, at their fingertips resources,” Secretary Bill McCamley said. “We are dedicated to being the gateway to employment for New Mexicans whether they are just starting out, looking for their next job, or changing careers.”

When creating a new account, existing users will be able to sync their old accounts with the new one without losing any information or saved documents. After creating a new account, individuals will be able to customize their My Workforce Connection homepage that will show all of their workforce information in one place including, at-a-glance job recommendations, personal Unemployment Insurance overview, and quick access to resources. Employment Representatives at any of the 21 New Mexico Workforce Connection Centers across the state are available to assist individuals with creating their new account.

Individuals applying for Unemployment Insurance are required to conduct weekly certifications. The majority of individuals receiving benefits complete their certification online on Sundays. Technical support will be available this from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 to assist individuals with their username, password, or syncing of accounts to the New Mexico Workforce Connection Online System or to the Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System or any technical aspect of setting up their new account. Technical support can be reached at 1.877.664.6984 or by email at NMDWS.TechSupport@state.nm.us. This will be a technical service only — any questions regarding Unemployment Insurance claims should be directed to the UI Operations Center, open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
