Open the door to a new opportunity! Due to recent retirements and existing vacancies, there are a number of job openings with Los Alamos Public Schools.
Job openings include teachers, instructional assistants, bus drivers and maintenance technicians.
LAPS is the third largest employer in Los Alamos County, currently employing more than 800 at 10 sites.
“We are looking for qualified men and women who want to become a part of our team and play a role in shaping the future of our main assets: our students,” Human Resources Director Joe Palmer said. “No matter what the job position within our organization, everyone employed at LAPS is involved in supporting our schools and our students.”
Along with competitive pay and a generous benefits package, including health, dental and vision coverage, as well as paid vacation and holidays, LAPS employees enjoy interacting with a group of creative and innovative thinkers on a day-to-day basis who offer support and job coaching.
LAPS employees are also eligible for professional development and continuing education. “Our goal is to not only ensure that our students thrive, but our employees as well,” Palmer said.
Positions are available at all sites, including the elementary, middle and high schools, as well as facilities and central office.
In addition to the positions already mentioned, LAPS is currently looking for a Director of Facilities to supervise the physical plant operations including all buildings and grounds, utilities, energy management systems and safety/security systems in order to provide a safe, healthy and comfortable environment for students, staff and the community.
LAPS also will be recruiting for a benefits and payroll supervisor. The ideal candidate should possess a strong benefits background and solid skill set in payroll processes.
