Jicarilla Man Gets Two Years In Prison For Assault

FBI News: 

ALBUQUERQUE — Ronnie Tiznado, 47, of Dulce and an enrolled member of the Jicarilla Apache Tribe, was sentenced June 14 in federal court to two years in prison for assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Indian Country.

Tiznado pleaded guilty Feb. 27, 2020.

According to his plea agreement, Tiznado assaulted the victim June 2, 2019, in Rio Arriba County on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation.

Tiznado admitted to throwing the victim to the ground and hitting her with his fists. The victim suffered serious bodily injuries as a result of the assault.

The FBI investigated this case with assistance from the Jicarilla Apache Police Department. Assistant U.S Attorney Frederick T. Mendenhall is prosecuting the case.
