SANTA FE — Construction season is in full swing on the Santa Fe National Forest. The Jemez Ranger District has closed some recreation sites throughout the summer to conduct pavement preservation projects.
“Many of our recreation sites in the Jemez Ranger District have not undergone pavement maintenance since the 1990s,” Jemez District Ranger Jeremy Golston said. “The ongoing projects aim to ensure safe access for those who enjoy recreation in this area. We will continue to update the public as soon as possible when recreation sites are planned to reopen and will provide information on any delays.”
The following recreation sites are currently CLOSED:
- Redondo Campground – CLOSED through August 2025
The following recreation sites are OPEN:
- San Antonio Campground – Reserve through recreation.gov
- Jemez Falls Campground – Reserve through recreation.gov
- Paliza Family Campground – Only OPEN Friday to Sunday
- Paliza Group Campground
- Vista Linda Campground
- Jemez Falls Picnic Area
- Battleship Rock Picnic Area
- Spanish Queen Picnic Area
