JMTR News:
The 10th Annual Jemez Mountain Trails Runs are scheduled for Saturday, May 23.
This year’s poster art is an original watercolor by Secundino Sandoval. All runners and volunteers get a poster. We are raffling off the original with framing by Village Arts to benefit the race. Tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20. Tickets can be purchased at Village Arts, Fusion Multisport, and CB FOX. Drawing will be May 22 at the pre-race dinner.
The painting will be displayed at Village Arts through April 18, then move to CB FOX, and end at Fusion Multisport in May. Stop by to see it and buy a raffle ticket. Only 252 tickets will be sold.
The race is a wonderful community event that takes full advantage of the beautiful mountain trail running network around town, up Pajarito Mountain, and through the Valles Caldera. Distances are a heavy-half (14 miles), 50 kilometer, and 50 mile. Last year more than 600 runners participated. Through registration fees and generous national and local sponsors, the race gave back more than $15,000 to local charitable and non-profit organizations as well as supported two scholarships for Los Alamos High School graduating seniors.
