CHAMBER News:

Jemez Mountain Brewhouse (JMB) has announced that it has received funding from the Regional Development Corporation (RDC). They also are updating their appetizer menu and will be brewing beer on-site very soon.

JMB said it is grateful to have received a TEAM Fund loan from the RDC to specifically acquire its new brew kettle, mash tun and heat exchanger. This TEAM Fund Award, meant to support growth-oriented companies on track to add jobs and grow revenues, was awarded to Jemez Mountain Brewhouse through a competitive application process. These funds, along with the assistance and education received, were vital to JMB’s development of its on-site brewing capabilities.

The new appetizers resulted from creative experimentation by Chef Ember and include fresh bread sticks, roasted brussel sprouts and cheesy potato pancakes.

JMB continues to offer fresh hummus, plant-based Beyond tenders, and have switched from boneless to bone-in hot chicken wings/legs.

The famous pizza is still prepared using their secret recipe, and gives customers a choice between a traditional sauce or a spicy sauce, non-dairy or Mozzarella cheese, and a variety of toppings for the vegan, vegetarian, carnivore and omnivore. A twelve inch gluten-free cauliflower crust is also available.

Brewing beer on-site is entering its final stage of development. Construction of a cold room to hold serving vessels should be completed in the middle of December and the finishing touches on the brew kettle burner and venting will soon follow. The long search for, and purchasing of, equipment has been completed and everything is pending placement into final positioning once construction is completed. Jemez Mountain Brewhouse has been able to acquire both used and new equipment with the guidance of Tom Hennessy from Colorado Boy Pub and Brewery, an invaluable resource throughout the process. They thank Tom, Colorado Boy Pub and Brewery, and the RDC for all their help!

Newly hired brewer, Tyler Glidden, is excited to start producing beer. Glidden brewed for Kalispell Brewing Company in Kalispell, Montana before joining Jemez Mountain Brewhouse.

The Brewhouse is open 4-8 p.m., Monday and Thursday and 12-8 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Open Mic happens 5:30-7:30 p.m., Mondays. John Urban and Mark Whitcomb will be playing 5-7 p.m. today, Dec. 22, in the Brewhouse and Karaoke will be offered 5-8 p.m., New Year’s Eve. JMB will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Jemez Mountain Brewhouse is at 17691 N.M. 4 in Jemez Springs. It is 38 miles from Los Alamos; less than an hour away. The Brewhouse opened at the end of May in 2022. Owners Eben Bold, Jef Bold, Scott Johnson and David Martinez hope to welcome local folks to the Brewhouse soon.
