Jace Garduno, right, celebrates his 13th birthday Saturday and while it was a ‘birthday in quarantine’, his family, friends and members of the Los Alamos Police Department made it memorable by throwing him a surprise birthday parade. Morse, Jace’s mother, explained their family is very close knit despite many family members living off the Hill. She said she coordinated with everyone to help celebrate her son’s birthday. She said Wardlow Herrera is her daughter Brittany Hatch’s boyfriend and he suggested getting the police involved in the festivities. ‘It was great that Jason did that for us,’ Morse said, adding that the event was ‘awesome’.
