The United Church of Los Alamos has been at the center of town between Canyon Road and Rose Street since the congregation officially formed in 1947.
The people of the congregation have embraced the church’s interdenominational and mission-focused identity since all denominations and traditions met in the Army Chapel before then.
The denominations who make up The United Church today are the American Baptist Churches USA, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Moravian Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), Reformed Church in America and United Church of Christ.
I came to this church in 2011 and have marveled at the congregation’s commitment to Christ, friendliness, talent and generosity. It is a diverse group of people in all ways who are enthusiastic about accepting people where they are in their life and faith.
Having completed several years of campus renovation, we are eager to live out the gospel of love and grace more fully in Los Alamos, throughout Northern New Mexico, and throughout our world.
We enjoy worship that is biblical, liturgical, spiritual and musical. We enjoy getting together for coffee, conversation, meals and work (including the annual Mexico Mission Trip with the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos).
We are eager to share our facilities with groups around Los Alamos as a congregation who was formed and supported by the people of this town. And we are grateful for our relationship with other churches and our neighbors at the Los Alamos Jewish Center.
It is a joy and a privilege to serve the people of Los Alamos!
Any and all are welcome to join us for worship on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. or 9:30 a.m., and to stay for coffee and/or a class. We enjoy lunch together one Sunday each month to which you are also invited.
