What to expect at a Sunday morning service at St. Job of Pochaiv Orthodox Church in Los Alamos?

You will be welcomed by friendly faces as well as the most colorful church sanctuary in Los Alamos. Take your time to look at and touch the icons, light a candle, say a prayer for yourself or a loved one.

There are service books available to follow along, but sometimes it is best just to be open to the multi-sensory experience that worship in the Orthodox Church has to offer.

Our services are sung and chanted a cappella in English, punctuated by a Κύριε, ἐλέησον or a Господи, помилуй (Lord, have mercy).

We normally stand through the service in a respectful attitude in the presence of our Lord, but there are chairs and benches available if one is not able to stand.

On Sunday morning, at 10 a.m., the service lasts about 90 minutes, after which we share a meal in the parish hall. While we eat, I give a little lesson for the adults, and the children can attend Sunday School.

Glory to Jesus Christ! Welcome to our church! Please come visit, and share God’s love with us!
