Thinking about running for the School Board? Want to learn more?

Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) will host an informational meeting for potential School Board candidates on Monday, Aug. 18, starting at 5:30 pm. in the School Boardroom on Trinity Drive.

Los Alamos County Clerk Michael Redondo will open the meeting by providing information about the candidate filing process and campaign requirements. Current school board members will then host a question and answer session for potential candidates to learn more about school board roles and responsibilities, time commitments and more.

Two seats for the Los Alamos Public Schools School Board will be on the ballot this November.

Seats currently held by Ellen Specter, District 1, and Ryan Adams, District 2, are open. Both positions are four-year terms. LAPS districts may be viewed here.

Candidate Filing Day is Tuesday, Aug. 26,9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the County Clerk’s Office at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.
