HYATT News:
SANTA ANA PUEBLO — In partnership with Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, the Tamaya Horse Rehab Program (THR), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at the Stables at Tamaya, is excited to announce this year’s Tamaya Horseshoes & Heels Gala. Taking place Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, the charity event supports THR’s ongoing efforts to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need and raises awareness about the plight of unwanted horses in New Mexico.
Founded over a decade ago at the Stables at Tamaya, THR has rescued more than 300 horses. Thousands of horses are abandoned annually in New Mexico. Several factors can lead to unwanted or surrendered horses including a horse’s decline in health or behavioral problems, and the owner’s financial or physical hardships.
“Our program is dedicated to giving these animals a second chance, providing all of the support and resources they need to lead happy, healthy lives,” Connie Collis, Stables Director said. “This event is our primary fundraiser and we’re excited to host it again this year.”
Money raised goes toward veterinary care, training, shelter, and feed. Last year’s gala attracted more than 200 guests and raised $75,000. During the event, guests have the opportunity to meet and take photos with some of Tamaya’s rescued horses.
Horseshoes & Heels begins with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. and silent auction featuring items ranging from hotel stays to artwork and jewelry. A three-course meal is followed by a live auction, music and dancing, and a live performance from the Austin Van Band.
Gala tickets start at $125 per person and go up to $900 for a table of eight. To purchase tickets, visit TamayaHorseRehab.com/Events. Attendees can take advantage of special room rates at Hyatt Regency Tamaya, with resort fee waived. Click here for booking details.
Companies, organizations, groups, and individuals can also contribute through a variety of support programs, including donating a bale of hay, virtually adopting a horse, and becoming an event sponsor.
