Haydn Shaw, a published expert on organizational leadership development, change management, and the engagement of multiple generations will present a free session for the public at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at SALA.

This session is designed for anyone working for a nonprofit organization, including board members, directors, employees and volunteers, although for-profit businesses may also find it useful.

Nonprofits have never had to recruit five generations of volunteers or board members and serve six generations before now. This session will help prepare for what will be the biggest challenge many organizations face:

• Should your nonprofit try to connect with all six generations or should it focus on one or two?
• What are Gen Z people like, and how do you engage them?
• What is the new life stage of Emerging Adulthood (18-28), and how does it change everything from managing at work to parenting at home, and 501c3s.
• How can boards gain the best from Traditionalists and Baby Boomers while also making a place for newer generations?
• How does board function affect donations and volunteering from younger generations?

Networking, engaging conversation and forward thinking with peers begins at 5:15 p.m. for this session, which is sponsored by Los Alamos Family Council and Los Alamos Community Foundation.
