Housing Workshop For Northern New Mexico Aug. 8

VFNM News:

ULI New Mexico in partnership with the Ventana Fund has just released its Northern New Mexico Housing report for the Española area.

This report is the result of the April 2023 Northern New Mexico Housing Summit held in Española.

ULI NM extends an invitation to Northern New Mexico leaders to attend the next steps meeting 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, at Nuckolls Brewing Santa Fe at 1611 Alcaldesa St. in Santa Fe.

The Española Housing Summit report discusses the impact of 7,500 new jobs in Española from Los Alamos National Laboratory and what that means for the ongoing housing shortage of 32,000 units in Northern New Mexico, as well as potential solutions.

The report is available for review and public comment at https://newmexico.uli.org/about/reports/.

The Aug. 8 event will include a candid discussion with community leaders on how to address the housing shortages. Concrete solutions and available funding tools will be discussed.

Registration for the Aug. 8 event in Santa Fe can be completed at http://www.ventanafund.org/EspanolaHousingUpdate. Lunch is included by the event sponsor, Ventana Fund.

“ULI New Mexico is dedicated to improving the built environments throughout New Mexico,“ ULI New Mexico Housing Chair Rathi Casey said. “The Española Mayor and leadership made it possible to do the important work of addressing housing shortages.”

Additionally, a follow-up housing summit will be held in Las Vegas at New Mexico Highlands University Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, in Las Vegas, NM.
