ALAMOGORDO — Be part of a commemorative celebration at the New Mexico Museum of Space History as we honor the bravery of 9/11 first responders with the invigorating Climb the Cube event on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025! Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Space is limited, so we strongly encourage participants to register in advance.
This event is a heartfelt tribute to the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, K9 units, and countless other first responders who sacrificed their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. By climbing the equivalent of 110 stories, participants symbolically retrace the heroic steps first responders took in the World Trade Center towers.
Participants can enter a raffle to win a fire helmet, valued at approximately $600, which will be donated and used by an active Chief or Deputy Chief firefighter. (Helmet donated by Milton Blankenship of Casco Industries) Additionally, they can commemorate their climb with a limited-edition t-shirt for $20.
“Each step in Climb the Cube represents resilience, courage, and sacrifice,” said April James of the New Mexico Museum of Space History. “It’s an opportunity for all of us to honor heroes while showing that their spirit continues to inspire us.”
