HOLMANS USA Announces Unexpected Passing Of CEO & President John Santoru

HOLMANS USA CEO & President John Santoru

TAAN News:

HOLMANS USA announces with profound sadness the unexpected passing of its CEO & President, John Santoru.

John was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and a respected business and community leader whose influence extended far beyond the organization he led.

He joined HOLMANS in 1992 and immersed himself in every aspect of the business, working across departments and developing a deep understanding of its people and operations. In 2022, he became CEO and sole owner, assuming full stewardship of a legacy he had helped shape for much of his professional life. Under his leadership, HOLMANS expanded significantly in scope and capability — evolving beyond its early roots as a small local map shop into a trusted technology partner serving national laboratories, government agencies, and Department of Energy sites across all four U.S. time zones.

Equally important to John was the belief that business carries responsibility to the community it serves. He championed a culture of philanthropy at HOLMANS, ensuring the organization remained deeply engaged in supporting education, healthcare, cultural preservation, and economic development throughout New Mexico and beyond. He viewed corporate success and community investment as inseparable — leading a company known not only for technical excellence, but for its generosity and service.

His leadership was defined by integrity, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to people. He invested in employees, mentored emerging leaders, and fostered a workplace culture rooted in trust and shared purpose. To many at HOLMANS, he was more than a CEO — he was a steady presence, an advocate, and a fierce supporter of the team.

Beyond his work at HOLMANS, John was deeply engaged in the community he loved. He served on the Board of Directors for the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce. His board involvement reflected his belief that leadership requires investing time, resources, and heart into institutions that strengthen opportunity, culture, and economic growth.

HOLMANS’ executive leadership team — Tonja McMullan, Chief Financial Officer; Carlos Garcia, Chief Operating Officer; Leroy Archuleta, Director of Sales; and Mike Renna, Director of Operations — continues to guide the organization forward, upholding the values and standards he instilled.

John’s passing is deeply felt across the HOLMANS team and throughout the broader community. His legacy of service, mentorship, and steadfast belief in the power of business to create lasting impact will endure.

“John led with conviction and believed in doing business the right way — with integrity and respect for people,” said Carlos Garcia, Chief Operating Officer of HOLMANS USA. “He meant more to this organization than a title could capture. He was a steady leader and mentor who genuinely cared about our team. We feel this loss deeply, not only as colleagues, but as a family. Our leadership team remains united in carrying forward the culture and values he built.”

Information regarding memorial arrangements will be shared as it becomes available and in accordance with the family’s wishes.

The organization asks that the community keep his wife, Sarah, his children, Zach and Meghan, his mother, Tata, and all who loved him in their thoughts during this difficult time.
