History On Tap: America And The Metric System Sept. 7

Los Alamos History Museum News:

Join the Los Alamos History Museum for History on Tap for an engaging discussion about the history of the metric system with Linda Anderman.

History on Tap, part of the On Tap series presented by the Los Alamos Creative District, is 5:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at UnQuarked, 145 Central Park Square.

For the past five years, Anderman has researched (and blogged about) the history of the metric system and its relationship to the United States. Even though it has been legal to trade in the metric system in this country since 1866 and the US had one of the first decimalized currencies in the world, metric measures still remain largely unused by Americans. She’ll explore some of that background during this presentation.
