The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers varsity girls soccer team hosted Pojoaque on Thursday at Sullivan Field for their final district game of the season. The Hilltoppers defeated Pojoaque 10-0 in a rousing celebration of their six seniors on Senior Night.
Senior Nora Johnson led the Hilltopper attack with 3 goals and 1 assist. Senior Meredith Brown scored 2 goals, senior Braeden Hanson scored 1 goal, junior Marlee Katko scored 1 goal, sophomore Dayja Fellers scored 1 goal (1 assist), sophomore Kristen Dailey scored 1 goal, and freshman Gracie Haagenstad scored 1 goal (1 assist). Senior Mika Stanfield also had an impressive game with 2 assists.
The Hilltoppers were crowned district champions after winning all six district games during which they scored 31 goals and did not have a single goal scored against them.
The Hilltoppers will travel to Sandia Prep on Saturday to play their final regular season game before the State playoffs begin the following week.
