- Public invited to explore New Mexico college, career and military opportunities
The New Mexico Higher Education Department (HED) in partnership with EXPO New Mexico will host “Pathways to College and Career Day” during the New Mexico State Fair 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14.
The event will feature more than 40 booths and exhibitors from New Mexico colleges and universities, trades unions, New Mexico employers, and military representatives along Main Street. Other highlights include the Central New Mexico Community College semi truck, an appearance by Smokey the Bear, the New Mexico Film Office, the U.S. Navy marching band, and flyovers by the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy helicopter. More than 50 New Mexico K-12 schools have arranged to bus students to the event.
College and university representatives, military recruiters, and representatives from the New Mexico Higher Education Department’s Financial Aid and Adult Education divisions and GEAR UP college readiness program will be available to share free information and resources with participants.
