Ahoy, Los Alamos! It’s time for Rotary’s fourth Annual Crab Fest, and you are all cordially invited: Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on the corner of Trinity Drive and DP Road.
Proceeds from the event will help the Rotary Club purchase an automatic external defibrillator (AED) for Fuller Lodge.
This all-you-can-eat crab and prawn dinner, our Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year, is served family-style with coleslaw, beans, rolls, dessert and beverages. (There will be chicken for those who do not care for seafood.)
The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m.; dinner, primarily prepared by Blue Window Bistro, will be served at 7 p.m. with help from members of the LAHS National Honor Society.
Along with dinner, you’ll be treated to guitar music by Tony Chan, and you’ll have many opportunities to bid on an abundant selection of silent auction items, as well as live auction items, with Mike Lippiatt and Jill Cook in tandem as auctioneers.
A glimpse at our auctions reveals an 8-night stay in a Kona condo; a two-night stay in a Santa Fe casita; spring clean-ups by Boy Scouts and Oasis Landscape plus many pieces of jewelry; artwork by Yenny Cocq and Secundino Sandoval; photography by Martha Katko and Hal Davis; many gift certificates; Navajo kachina dolls; sushi, cioppino and salmon dinners; golf clubs, lessons and greens fees; a 2008 Olympic Gold Medal signed basketball and still more.
Tickets are $45 each; reserved tables of 10 are $450. Tickets may be purchased at Blue Window Bistro, CB FOX and the Chamber of Commerce. This year we have undertaken a new project, one to benefit Fuller Lodge, and proceeds will also benefit local scholarships once again.
Over the past three years, community support of the Crab Fest provided enough funding for our Club to re-build the LAHS Memorial Garden, which was removed during reconstruction of the high school.
Your support of the Crab Fest this year will help us reach another goal: the purchase of an automatic external defibrillator (AED) for Fuller Lodge. Our Club is working closely with County staff, including Rotarian and Los Alamos Fire Chief Troy Hughes, in an effort to purchase this basic life-saving equipment for a building that itself is the heart of our community.
Your purchase of Crab Fest tickets will give you and your guests a lively evening of fun on the Hill and will bring the Rotary Club of Los Alamos many steps closer to providing an AED for Fuller Lodge. We welcome your support!
