Executive Director
Los Alamos Family Council

This year has been a year of great change for us – much of it unexpected.

We moved offices from our long-time setting to a newer, larger space. The move has enabled us to expand our clinical team and provides the space necessary to add at least two more therapists in the coming year!

Our clinical team now has six therapists. These therapists combine to cover appointments over 58 hours weekly including four evenings a week and Saturdays! This hours enable us to offer more than 160 appointments a week! Our therapists are backed up with medication management provided by a psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Los Alamos Family Council has helped 355 clients in 2021 in 4,500 appointments and group sessions!  And that’s just through November!

And that’s just the Counseling Center!

Our Youth Activity Centers faced COVID-related capacity restrictions for much of the first half of the year, and we still have had 4,250 daily attendances from more than 180 kids so far!

We have helped families who struggle financially – including homeless adults, teenagers who seek treatment even when their parents refuse to help them, and seniors whose insurance coverage doesn’t pay for mental health counselors.

This coming year I want to be able to serve even more, but we need your help to do it!

We have launched our 60th Anniversary Count UP! Celebration – and want to make 2022 a great year!

With our new Counseling Center offices and the clinical team we have, we can expand services by 30 percent Carol, I need your help to expand our services more and to keep the cost of mental health affordable.

You can help me increase the available mental health services available in Los Alamos. Your donation is crucial to our efforts to make these services available.

As we lead up to our 60th anniversary, we have a dual goal – $60,000 for this coming year’s program growth and $60,000 into our endowment to help sustain our programs for another six decades.

To meet that goal, we are specifically looking for a group of 600 donors to donate $100 to both our program campaign and our endowment campaign in the next 45 days

If you’d like, you can designate your gift to the Counseling Center, the Youth Activity Centers, or general support.

Thank you in advance for your contribution. Your donation will go towards covering the costs incurred in providing affordable mental health services to clients in our community and offering free, safe, and supervised activities at the youth activity centers.

Here are ways you can make a donation:

  1. Click this link to go to our 60th anniversary campaign page
  2. Mail a check to us at 1350 Central Ave, Suite 102, Los Alamos, NM 87544
