From the Office of U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich:
ALBUQUERQUE — U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) visited Tuesday with the New Mexico National Guard and health care workers assisting with efforts to help more New Mexicans receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We secured provisions in the American Rescue Plan to ramp up vaccine distribution and help communities and businesses recover. They mark the beginning of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Heinrich said. “Thank you to the New Mexico National Guard and health care workers helping to get more vaccines into more arms. I encourage every New Mexican to make a plan to get vaccinated.”
Sen. Heinrich helped secure $20 billion in the American Rescue Plan to supercharge nationwide vaccine distributions, as well as $50 billion for testing, genomic sequencing of variants, and contact tracing efforts.
