Heart of Enchantment Quilt Show This Weekend

LAPQG News:

Heart of Enchantment Quilt Show, co-sponsored by the Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilt Guild and Jemez Mountains Bear Paws Quilting Guild, is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Crossroads Bible Church in Los Alamos.

Admission for the Quilt Show is $2 for adults and $1 for seniors and children.

The Heart of Enchantment Quilt Show will feature quilts and fiber arts items made by members of both the Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilt Guild and Jemez Mountains Bear Paws Quilting Guild. Vendors with sewing and quilting supplies, as well as Guild members with items for sale, including quilting and jewelry, will also be participating at the show. Donna Smith, who is a member of both quilt guilds, chairs this year’s show.

The “Heart of Enchantment Quilt,” is the name of this year’s donation quilt, made by one of the Guild members. The raffle for this bargello quilt is Saturday, Oct. 26 at the October Los Alamos Piecemakers meeting. Buy tickets at the Quilt Show for a chance to win this quilt.

Once again there will be a Silent Auction at the Quilt Show with children’s quilts, wall-hangings and table runners. There will be frequent door prizes and games for children.

Both quilt guilds are very active and do community service projects. The Jemez Mountain Bear Paws quilters have been making quilts and giving them to the families of each fallen New Mexico serviceman and woman. The Los Alamos Piecemakers do various community projects and have made more than 40 quilts for the Little Bear Fire victims.

The LA Piecemakers meet the fourth Tuesday of each month. For more information, visit http://www.vla.com/lap/.
