Halloween Party Supports Make-A-Wish® New Mexico

Make-A-Wish® New Mexico News:

ALBUQUERQUE – Garcia Subaru North will host a Halloween Party to support Make-A-Wish® New Mexico.

The event is 6-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 and includes Halloween activities, costumes, and of course trick-or-treating for Wish kids and children from the community.

The party is open to the public. Garcia Subaru North is at 6401 San Mateo Blvd NE.

The Halloween Party will generate excitement and kick-off the 11th annual Subaru Share the Love® Event which runs Nov. 15 through Jan. 2, 2019. During this time, for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased, Subaru will donate $250 to a participating national or local charity chosen by the purchaser or lessee.

Make-A-Wish America is one of the four national charities for the eighth consecutive year. Retailers can select Hometown Charity partners from their local community in which customers could direct their support. Garcia Subaru North selected Make-A Wish New Mexico for their hometown charity and will match Subaru of America’s donation to the chapter.

The Share the Love® Event provides Subaru lovers the opportunity to transform the life of a child battling a critical illness through a wish come true.  Last year alone, Subaru donated more than $2.9 million to Make-A-Wish. Over the past 10 years, the annual holiday event has raised $118 million for benefiting charities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Garcia Subaru North for the 11th annual Subaru Share the Love® Event.  Garcia Subaru North is an active partner in the community and together we will create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses,” said President & CEO Sara Lister of Make-A-Wish New Mexico.

About Make-A-Wish® New Mexico

Make-A-Wish New Mexico is a local non-profit that creates life-transforming wishes for critically ill children. Wishes allow a child to anticipate, describe, imagine, plan, and eventually rejoice in its fruition. We encourage a child to envision a positive future and to remain an active partner in treatment when courage and hope begin to fade. We believe wishes improve the odds for wish kids fighting critical illnesses.

Research is being conducted that shows the positive medical outcomes that a wish can provide, while simultaneously showing a reduction in medical costs for wish children. Wishes help kids look past their limitations, families overcome anxiety and entire communities experience joy. Most importantly, wishes can improve a child’s quality of life, and give them a better chance of recovering. This year we expect to grant 105 of these life-transforming wishes to children across the state of New Mexico.
